The collection of solid beech wood contract furniture is FSC and PEFC certified, finished with low-VOC water-based stains and lacquers, and produced locally in the Netherlands and Europa— making it one of the most traceable and sustainable project furniture ranges available.

why beech wood?
Beech is the most workable and available sustainable hardwood in Europe. Unlike oak and ash — whose supplies are significantly strained — beech grows abundantly in certified European forests. It is strong, splinter-free, ideally suited to steam bending, and produces minimal waste during processing. Every piece of solid wood in the DUM collection carries PEFC or FSC certification.

DUM's supply chain is mostly based in the Netherlands. Short distances mean a lower CO2 footprint and faster response to project-specific customisation. All production complies with European standards for working conditions, trade union freedom and job security.
